Labdanum is a fascinating material extracted from the rockrose shrub native to the Mediterranean. The twigs are redolent with the fragrant, sticky gum which is harvested and processed to result in a dark resin with a fragrance that is ambery, balsamic, leathery, vanillic, woody and herbaceous all at once.
Here we have the resinoid supplied diluted to 60% by weight in benzyl benzoate for ease of use.
